Picky Eater

Emma is talking more and more but I wish I could say the same for eating.  The picture illustrates how a typically dinner goes in the Lipke household.  She starts her day off with milk and a small breakfast snack such as some cereal, granola, or a banana.  Then when she gets to school she usually joins the clean plate club for round two of breakfast then it is all down hill from there. For school lunch she typically doesn't eat much other than some bread or fruit if it is offered.  She gets a snack after nap-time and she usually finishes it but that because well, it's snack food.  Of course she will gobble up nilla wafers, goldfish, cheezits who wouldn't those things are delicious!  At home she is so picky about what we give her for dinner.  If she doesn't like something she won't just not eat it it has to be off of her tray all together.  She doesn't even want to see it.  If she doesn't get something she wants (some sort of snack food) she will cry and carry on.  We have tried to just have her cry it out but she is too stubborn (not sure where she gets that from) and she just doesn't stop.  Doctor says to just keep offering her the same foods we are eating and eventually she will start to increase the foods she eats.  Clearly our pediatrician has never been to my house for dinner!
